Samaj Ratna Dr. Gautam Pandurang Gosavi born in a middle class family to freedom fighter Pandurang Baliram Gosavi on 27th December 1956. In spite of the middle class condition of the family, Gautam Gosavi’s father, Pandurang Gosavi was a man of clear thoughts and simple living with front step with a social work. Pandurang Gosavi was a freedom fighter in the year of 1942 in The Quit India Movement. He received an award from the 1st President of India Dr. Rajendra Prasad and also received many awards within the State of Maharashtra. As the saying goes, like father like son, Gautam Gosavi also started Social work while completing his education. Following his father footsteps, he under took full-fledged social work and started living a simple life.In the year 1976,aged 20,he completed his education in field of rural development from Maliwada, Aurangabad and started to work towards the same by use of his social work. After becoming a member of institute of Cultural Affairs, he carried out works (comprehensive programs)in Maharashtrian areas of Akola, Aurangabad ,Kolhapur, Pune, Sangli, Satara and Ratnagiri, others areas in which he worked included Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.
